I am hoping to find some unused or gently used replacements. The hammer heads are 1 5/8th" wide across the shoulders, 2 1/4" bore length, and 2 3/4" overall, much bigger than any I have on hand. Any suggestions are appreciated.</span></blockquote></div><br><div>Hi Patrick,</div><div><br></div><div>Since you have opened the door to suggestions, I will suggest that you reuse the delaminated hammers. It's not too difficult to use accelerator and thick CA to reglue the felt to the molding. If you have trouble getting enough compression to close the felt around the molding, put a piece of of wax paper down on a hard surface and then use vise-grip(tm) pliers to pinch the felt around the molding while pressing the molding and the felt down flat against the wax paper. Practice a few times, and when you feel comfortable with the alignment and pressure, open the joint and spray in accelerator, followed by thick CA and a quick reapplication of the vise-grips.</div><div><br></div><div>That's what I would do, because these hammers will probably match their neighbors better both in tone and in regulation than your substitute hammers. And, I would put a drop of thick CA on the neighboring (not yet delaminated) hammers on each of the two trailing edges of the felt/molding joint (the part of the felt nearest the tail), just as a precaution.</div><div><br></div><div>Joe DeFazio</div><div>Pittsburgh</div></body></html>
