Hi all.
One of these days I'll get back to being a technician again! Until
then:

-Higher Logic has gone through a very large upgrade of speed(as
promised) and Library functionality(as promised).
Both appear to be running smoothly with only a small bump here and
there. Speed is noticeably better.

-You can now simply view items in any library without having to
download it.
-Since the Convention, no less than 6 new Member Created Groups
have appeared.
-All the committees have been moved to HL. Hopefully, this will be
the start of what we like to call "institutional memory" for the
committees.

-I have been told that a vBulletin look for the forum is scheduled
for release the first part of September. A few of you have
requested this, and there are a few Associations that HL deals
with requesting the same thing. They are responding as quickly as
they can. Keep in mind this is a company, from what I can gather,
running very lean right now. But - they are responding.

-As to 3 biggies on the listserv vs. web forum comparison:
1. the re: issue has been re-submitted again since I feel it was
lost in the cracks with their recent upgrade. Again, we are not
the only organization requesting this.
2. Attaching photos to email and expecting it to appear on the
forum appears to be low on their priority list. I know a few of
you have expressed disappointment, yet have gone to the forum side
to post pictures, and I thank you for that.
3. ASCII symbols can be added to the forum side at any time, but
it is my understanding that, as we know, it creates a mess when
certain symbols are attempted to be translated across forums..and
then there are some that are not translated at all. Like I said, I
have been told that these type of symbols can be added to the
forum software at any time.

If there are concerns I have missed, please let me know. HL has
been responsive to my requests.

Thanks,
-Phil
