Hi all.

At one point on Thursday, I was at the point of starting to write
a message to everyone here about a conversation/support ticket
that was written regarding the 'email reply' function with Higher
Logic.
It was not good news. I was dreading that email. It seems lately
here I am the bearer of not so good news in the
integration/migration upgrade that the PTG is involved with. That
feeling of being 'the bad guy' so to speak gets old quickly with
me.

OK - so I have bad news, and not so bad news:

The bad news is that after numerous support tickets and other
organizations requesting something very similar to what we have
been requesting, the re: issue remains an issue. That's the email
I was dreading.

The not so bad news is: I am beta testing a vBulletin look with
HL. What they rolled out was basic, and what we end up with will
be different. I like the fact that it was rolled out ahead of
schedule, and I have been asked to give it a good test drive
before it is pronounced 'here' and ready to use. I'm also
employing a few members who are more familiar with that software
than I, so this is not a singular effort here. Also, we are not
the only organization testing it, so ideas and suggestions will be
rolling in next week to their 'suggestion box' on how to make this
as good as possible with as much flexibility as we can build in.

Also, in the not so bad news column is something that came as
quite a surprise to me on Friday. The CEO of HL wrote me a note
and wanted to share a conversation he's having with another
programmer regarding the re: issue. Please believe me when I say -
I am not a programmer. I am the original MIDI-idiot. Yet, being
asked to read a conversation between 2 programmers was
enlightening. Reading that conversation, seeing how their minds
work was fascinating to me. It appears that the re: issue is not
dead, rather very much alive, and being a part of the potential
solution is humbling. From their conversation, some ideas and
suggestions were asked. That's where it's at right now. It's not a
dead issue.

Have a great weekend.
