<div>A small add like the one you're proposing in the classified section of the newspaper is a good idea. But it needs to be there every day, or week, continuously. Not just once or twice. It might take several weeks for anyone to even start calling you, so don't get discouraged. Some weeks you'll get two or three calls, and some weeks you won't get any. Remember, no everyone needs there piano tuned every day. Tuning is a once a year, or in some cases, once every 5 year event. The other reason you need to keep the ad in the paper is it sometimes takes several weeks for someone to make up her mind to get the work done. She sees that ad and says, "yes, I should do that". The next she sees the ad she says, "I'll ask the teacher, or daughter, or husband". Then for several weeks she forgets about it. Finally, when she's ready to call you, if the ad isn't there, she'll call someone else. So persistence is important. <br>
</div>
<div>Having said that, I am not sure newspaper advertising is all that important anymore. Most people now search the Internet, or look on Facebook or Craig's list, or several other public media sites, like Yelp. It might be better to advertise on those sites instead of the newspaper. </div>
