You could file hammers to remove external stuff, (and then you'd probably want to file them all to keep it consistent). Then I might try dusting all the hammers with baking soda and letting is sit a few days. Vacuum off and call it good. I think part of the problem will be that it likely has soaked into the hammers though, and you're not going to be able to remove that. So, back to replacement.............<div>
