<DIV>Matthew,</DIV>
<DIV> Ditto on Johns response. If I as you describe " Pull the
action" to repin every sluggish center I would not not have the
customers best interest in mind and if I do apply a lube the nozzle is
not shoved into the action as if this is a careless act.</DIV>
<DIV>Now repinning is necessary in some cases but the overwhelming majority
of sluggish centers will respond to lube .Others such as the Baldwin action
on my bench now will need shrinking.</DIV>
<DIV> Check out the archives for alc.water treatment. After the
bushings are sized I will apply protek just cause' .I indeed may have to
repin a few centers but not many if experience holds true.</DIV>
<DIV>This is not a value judgement on the clients finances and the pitch
raise analogy is a red herring.</DIV>
<DIV>We have several arrows in the repair quiver . I start with the
technique that is the least expensive for the client AND has proven
successfull ---- until the piano tells me otherwise. </DIV>
