The only Yamahas on which I've experienced frequent string breakage are the old P202 studio uprights (found mostly in schools), and, of course, those older pianos with heavily grooved or packed-down hammers that need either filing, softening, or voicing, or all three. <br>

I went back last week to pull up the new string, and the bass section was also in need of cleaning up. While in the process of doing that, the G-2 string broke.<br>
