My great-grandfather and friends from UW bought the land for a song in 1906. If any of you get to the UW campus,  his bestest buddies friends were: Parrington, Padelford, Hall, Savery, and his name, Harlan Thomas, who sadly got no name on a building, but was a member of the "rat pack" and dean of Architecture for 30 years.  I have some stories, my friends if you want.Remember Pike Place Market, you  guys? The Montlake Bridge? The Sorrento Hotel?, Harborview hospital? The Univ of WA hospital (the old wing)?   Yup. For those of who might not remember, it was along the shores of Ford Island where the Battleships were moored during the attack on Pearl Harbor. </font></div> <div> </div> <div>When I got done with my appointment, I was only a few hundred feet from the water front, so I drove down to the Arizona Memorial.  Picture is from about 25 yards away. When I got back to my car, I had a great view of the Mighty Mo, the Missouri, which is docked only a few hundred yards from the Arizona. </div> <div> </div> <div>One of the few perks of living in Hawaii.
