Although rather than using pliers to grasp the shank, I just use a normal removal tool.</div><div>I was using a heat gun, but it was too hard to control the heat, and I wood sometimes blacken the shank.</div><div>The hair straightener, since they don't want to burn hair, seems to be the right heat to soften the glue.</div><div>John Ross</div><div>Windsor, Nova Scotia.</div></body></html>
