<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Tahoma> My mentor and brother-in-law
Frank McKowen from Lansing, MI did exactly that on a trip in Alaska.
Pulling an Airstream trailer, he would go from town to town, tuning as he
went. The great thing about it was that the folks he would work for would
alert the people in the next town that he was coming so work was waiting when he
arrived. He paid for the trip doing this!</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>When I was tuning in Southern Colorado I heard about an itinerant tuner,
who traveled the plain states, south in the winter then back up north in the
summer. He had a pick up truck with a camper, in which he lived. he more or
less had regular customers, but when he got to a town, he would go to a church
and start asking if there were pianos to be tuned. He would stay as long as he
was needed, and then move on. </DIV>
