An alternative direction would be to help the person out and give (or sell) them whatever wire they need. I've done this many times - for windshields, cleaning carburetors, a loom, etc., etc. It can be kinda fun - you get to meet someone doing something different than what you do - and hey, maybe they have a piano - or know someone that does - or maybe they'll tell someone about their experience with you and they tell someone who has a piano - or whatever.
