If I have full strength contacts in both eyes I can't read a thing. So I have a weaker prescription for the left eye contact than what is called for. This enables me to read things without reading glasses in a pinch and see things that are close a lot easier. That is a really good decision, Ron. I spent the first half of my life near-sighted till I got far-sighted in middle age. <br>If I were still nearsighted and had the choice, I'd attempt to keep some of it, because close work is so much easier without wearing glasses at all, and I do so much close work. <br><br>I must admit that looking at distant landscapes and seeing crisp edges and beautiful colors after half a lifetime of squinting and blur is a good consolation prize for needing multiple reading glasses.<br><br>Good luck with your cataract surgery.
