Our energy is precious in these trying times, and I want to see if any important new technical info is waiting for me to learn about while I eat, scanning the subject headings, WITHOUT having to log on to a separate site! (Which may turn out to be an utter waste of effort.) And will the new site be technical-heavy and social-light (like this one) or the other way around??? The Electronic Communications Committee was asked to come up
with an alternative to pianotech@ptg.org. They gave us Google+, which in my
opinion has possibilities. It's not email, and that alone has its drawbacks
for some, but it is an alternative. The Board also recognizes that there are
a few more options out there for piano techs to have discussion
and ask
questions. Pianoworld comes to mind as an active place for techs. Personally
I am not involved there, but am aware of it. The PTG Facebook page has had
its share of discussion there also.

The Board would like nothing more than to have all the finest techs in the
world discussing here on this platform. Being realistic that's not going to
happen.

Paul, I hope that answers your question."
-------------------------------------------
-phil,
Are you speaking on behalf of the entire Board? Or, just yourself/ Or, just
for the Executive Committee, that has been extremely silent? The above is
crap and you know it. So much placating garbage imo. I expect more from you
Phil. You, of all people should be able to know what is right for PTG. The
HL format is not cutting it. Face it. Admit it. And, move on to something
for EVERYONE! Let's gather the flock into one field, not scatter
them
helter skelter!
In my opinion, the Delcour thing could work. No one has
given it a try, as far as I know. I haven't, because it got lost in the
B.S. of HL ala Executive Board Rhetoric! Grrrr! I am sending this one to
the real list. I hope that won't piss off too many people.<G>
Joe

Joe Garrett, R.P.T.
Captain of the Tool Police
Squares R I
http://gpianoworks.com/
