list ever, then perhaps they deserve to see it leave their premises to

a life of its own? <br>

several others have stated, I, too, came to the PTG through this List,
having joined it in the late '90s. In fact, I met and became friends
with Newton BEFORE joining PTG after retiring from teaching. The
demise of this List is unnecessary and borderline cruel...but mostly
just a stupid move by people who don't use it and can't possibly
recognize its value.<br>

Forgive the length of this post...I have another experience to relate.
I do post on HL to the ChapterNewsWire group, as I am the editor of the
Chicago Chapter newsletter. (The old ChapterNewsWire is still
working...I'll bet that's history after April Fool's!) I have
successfully uploaded the newsletter to the group on HL but it ALWAYS
takes more than one try...it never feels like the steps are the same
two months in a row! The most telling situation is that while in past
years (I've been editor for 10 years now) there have been a dozen or so
newsletters arriving in my e-mail box, since the HL site was instituted
(and highly touted), I now see two, maybe three, occasionally four
newsletters...so my fellow editors have departed the HL scene in
droves. (Albeit small droves.)<br>
