Wim, $30k seems an absolutely extraordinary sum.
How can it possibly cost that? To whom does $30k get paid? That
figure seems impossibly high.
I am one of the three active administrators of a listserv maling
list for a health condition. At its peak it had some 700
subscribers and a lot of traffic. It costs virtually nothing at
all. It's chaaritable and is hosted for free, and aven at its
busiest, required very little administration. Admittedly it is
more basic - you can't post photos to it. But still, $30k seems
absurd. There must be a mistake, surely.
Best regards,

Jim wanted numbers. If I recall, Pianotech is costing us
about $30k per year. It was also administered for free by a
couple of members. If we pay the HO to do that work, the cost of
maintaining the list will be in the $50K range. With 100
subscribers, that would come to $500 per year. Any takers?
