That's very interesting about
the LDS church requiring liability insurance. And thanks for the
suggestion about Farmer's. I really need just liability insurance
rather than any tool insurance. Safeco (Potter, Leonard & Cahan)
requires you to buy tool and bailee insurance along with liability.

Tuners,
While doing my taxes I realized that my tuning
insurance has gone up quite a bit this last year. Potter, Leonard
& Cahan require us to include tool and bailee insurance in the minimum
package whereas I'm really just interested in liability insurance. Has
anyone explored any other insurance options?

and they require liability insurance, the insurance you are referring to is
Safeco insurance. I am spending $720/year for that.
I am supposed to
have tool coverage with that, and computer coverage, which I found out when I
had to replace my logic board. Their deductible is $1000! That is
almost the cost of the computer itself. So as always money goes in one
direction.....
The deductible for tool loss is $250 which is better.
I think if you are using an accutuner that is considered a tuning tool
not a computer and would get better coverage.
I know Farmers' offers a
liability insurance, but to remove the hassle of tracking down low prices, I
just went ahead with Safeco as they have a specific category for piano
technicians.
