When
cleaning a piano's interior you want to avoid the use of caustic and =
oily
substances. I'd be really cautious about what to use around the
pinfield. Plain old furniture polish can ruin a pinblock. =
Seems to
me that something alcohol based would be safest.

Andrew =

I have a blue handled mute that I bought from Schaff several =

trunk of

the blued steel handle, which work quite well. After the =
rubber
wears out, you can even use the handle to push a rag around in =
hard to
clean places under the strings near the tuning pins.
