hink PTG is "cliquey". Perhaps you don't understand the chip tuning =
from our angle...most of us don't bring pianos up a little at a time. =
Bring it up and bring it up again...however many times it takes...US t=
uners, in general, don't believe in a little at time is beneficial in t=
he least bit....so you're English training is showing...;-] NOT THAT =
THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT>>>>imho.
I think we can get an idea of what PTA's work life is like by their web=
site. Predominately on the first page is a definition of straight-str=
ung vs. overstrung and overdampers vs. underdampers. I don't think an=
ywhere else in the world is that a front page item. I can't really re=
member it being discussed. My post about PTA discussing nothing but bi=
rdcages seems about right. You would think that they wouldn't have an=
ymore birdcages in England. I thought they sent them all to us to dis=
pose of....;-]</FONT>

David, Please don't talk about chipping-up as you obviously haven't a =
clue what it means! FYI, chipping is a process of bringing up (or down=
) the pitch of a piano in as fast a manner as possible, in one pass. Th=
is requires the action to taken out. Like I said, it is not required f=
or the PTA entrance test.
