years, I agree
with David Love when he says that referrals are all important. If you do =
the
best job that you can, and always try to upgrade your skills by =
being in
the Guild and learning all that you can, word will get out, the work =
will come
in to the point that you too can feel stressed out. But you'll also be =
earning a
lot of money, and if you couple that with customer satisfaction, then =
you end up
with a job you love. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2> When starting out, =
form a
relationship with a dealer that handles a quality line. See if you can =
fill in
the blank spaces in your schedule with tunings at their dealerships. =
Tune as
many pianos as you can there, and while you're tuning, look at what =
you're
tuning and what makes it different from the other makes of pianos. =
Therefore,
you can begin to learn what to expect from different makes, and what =
works on
them. Try to get them to let you do a little regulating work on them, so =
you can
learn that part of the trade. That will give you plenty of questions to =
ask the
other Guild members, and through that you can grow. I see plenty of =
pianos where
the previous technician could have sold his services to the customer, =
and it
makes me think that maybe he didn't have anything to sell. Good Luck to =

excellent Technician's such as Jack Wyatt, Leon Spier and many

holiday season seems to be stressing all of the seasoned Technician's =

bit due to more work than can be handled. I've heard that there =

always more work than technician's ever since I've started learning =
the
trade. My question, "HOW DO YOU GET THAT BUSY." If it =
weren't for
friends and churches that I have close ties to I wouldn't have any =
work to do
at all. Most of the work has been tuning only. I know of a =
6'4"
Knabe from the early 1920's that needs an action rebuild but I don't =
do those
yet and I doubt I could talk the Pastor into spending that kind of =
money
anyway.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>

re-whatevered, under a tight schedule, and trying to keep up with my =

clients. The other night I just vented a little too much, and I can =
assure
you that what I had to say was not meant in the literal sense that
apparently it was taken in. What I probably should have done is =
describe the
