And you obviously don't understand just what a pro= visional ballot is. It's when people show up to vote, and they aren't listed= as being registered. It's a way to try and keep people from voting twice, w= ithout causing them to not be able to vote at all. Historically, almost half= of the provisional ballots turn out to legitimately be bogus attempts for p= eople who aren't registered to vote, to vote. I'm sorry, but I don't care if= you're rich, white, and living in a mansion, if you don't have the good sen= se to follow the law and register to vote properly, you don't have the right= to vote. The only way you can maintain order is to set rules and then make = everyone play by them.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Next, Ohio has a long standing method by which they factor these provis= ional ballots into the picture, and it's one that makes complete sense. If t= he number of votes separating the two parties involved is larger than the nu= mber of provisional ballots, then there is no reason to not go ahead and cal= l the election for the one with the most votes. In other words, if the one w= ith the most votes has 500 more votes than the other guy, and there are only= 300 provisional ballots, common sense tells you that you aren't going to fi= nd enough votes for the loser among 300 ballots to come up with more than 50= 0 votes.
