never found a Gulbransen player that had less than 88 notes. =
Since the
1960's, however, most of the smaller new style players all played =
only 80
notes leaving off 4 at each end...some of them fewer than that. =
Of
course, QRS piano rolls did not cut holes there either since the
60's. The Reproducing pianos also did not play all 88 =
notes ever
because there were expression holes needed there. Duo Art only =
plays 80
notes and Ampico plays 83 if memory serves
