But from the posting below it's easy to think you are dealing with the noise that the jack's backside can make if it slams into the regulating button felt. The "click" could also be from the repetition spring as well, but that generally sounds more like what I would call a click. If its the regulating button felt / jack thing it sounds more perhaps like a hard thump... maybe even so hard that I might use the word "click"... Anyways.... if its the button / jack thingy... then check for too strong tension on the repetition spring, wear and indentation on the roller, jack top regulated too low, hard button felt, too free a center pin for the jack. Or any combination of these. If its the spring itself try cleaning and reseating them in the whippen, make sure they are not to long, and spring tension can also play a part here. Sounds to me like a good time for the ol 50,000 mile service job.
