What a mess of hammer alignment I had to straighten out. This action plays = quite nicely.  Strings are level except a couple of bass agraffes that = are tilted too far to level. What can you do about that?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2>These hammers are driving the strings = now. When I plucked a string on the new S&S D in the shop, it sounded very = similar tonally to the Samick. When I played the note I realized the hammers = were driving the sizzle on the D. With that long of a tenor string, voicing = is a different animal. Now this Samick is showing some potential which amazes = me because these hammers were never voiced. They are cupped so bad it looks = like Batman's helmet. I wonder if they were ever touched with sandpaper. = Solid rocks. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2>How did Ed figure getting the needle = in the dremmel? Don't laugh. I may need something like that. About = </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2>5mm is all you can push a needle in. = If I drive three </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2> needles 6mm in, I need a pry = bar to get them out without breaking the hammer. I am going to go with the Jolly = method and try to run a center stitch with a single # 12 needle. Push it all = the way to wood then hope I can get it out.
