<HTML><HTML>Dave, Here's the another application for steaming. Lightly steaming the front bush= ings will temporally close the gap, enough to buy sometime before replacing = the bushings becomes a reality. Be careful not to overdue the steaming as th= e gluing could be harmed.  Years ago I use to use a bushing tightener w= hich crunch the sides of the mortise, causing them to close up. The long ter= m effects, however, harmed the mortise more than helping the bushing. Quickl= y learned that tool did more harm them good. My personal opinion on turning the pins....DON'T!! Well you're at it, check the balancier holes. If loose, give them a shot of = steam as well. Tom Servinsky, RPT</HTML>
