It's great that you can set them all over like that. This gives the
same functionality as with RCT's custom EQ, only it is decided before
hand and can be set on any note, as you said. I noticed you set the
A's (plus C88) ;-)

This looks exactly like what RCT's custom equalizer does but in a
different way. I understand that Verituner is applying these
preferences to each note as it listens to them, and that you are
assigning weighting, not absolute position of the tuning. For those
who haven't used it, in RCT you use a slider and do this visually - the
octave types are marked on the graph at each A (based on the measurements
already taken), and you simply place the slider between them, favoring
the octave type that you prefer or that the piano calls for. Same
idea as the percentages that Ron gave, but handled differently.

I find that these settings need to be changed a lot, though. For
instance, I may like slightly wide 6:3 octaves in the first octave of a
small grand or an upright, but on a concert grand this is too narrow - I
change to wide 12:6 octaves then. I'll also change the treble
stretch mid-tuning many times, jumping back to the custom EQ screen and
moving the treble slider according to what I have heard. Maybe the
answer with Verituner is to create a variety of these preferences, and
load them according the piano.

Once again, Pocket RCT doesn't even allow this tweaking yet - you
have to use the windows or mac version to get the custom EQ until Pocket
RCT Ver. 2 comes out.

I'll have to check out Verituner again in Atlanta and see the octave type
settings in practice. It's been a long time since I looked at
Verituner - sunds cool. I'd also like to know more about this idea
of weighting the loudest coincident partials - that sounds like it could
cause the tuning to become more erratic. But then, that's what our
ears do, so maybe it's OK.
