<DIV class=RTE>My SAT II was overdue for a check-up and today it went
belly-up.</DIV>

<DIV class=RTE><U>SO</U> I had to tune the old fashioned way with just =
the
hammer, tuning fork and some mutes. 5ths, 4ths, octaves etc. =
T'was a
good thing. Luckily I had a full size concert grand piano to work
on.</DIV>

<DIV class=RTE>I recommend leaving the SAT home once in a while. =
I tend to
get a little more reliant on it than I should and of course it is =
faster, but it
only took me about 15 minutes longer to do the tuning by ear than =
it did
when I used the SAT.</DIV>

<DIV class=RTE>Cleans the cobwebs out of your head and brings a smile =
when you
realize you can still do a tuning the way we (or were supposed to have)
learned.</DIV>
