<html><DIV> <P>Had a long-time customer of my Dad's and now mine call.  For some reason she couldn't get a hold of me last year (?) and called someone else.  She was just horribly disappointed.  He didn't  "even know how to tune!"  When I looked at her questioningly, she ammended it by saying, "well, he didn't know how to tune grands".  So I did the unusual, and asked her who it was.  I was astonished at her answer, a great guy, a younger (30ish) man who is an excellent tuner also.  I would have him tune for me _anytime_.</P> <P>So when I measured the tuning with the RCT, it was just as I expected, _excellent_, just needed a little touch up.</P> <P>As I started to work, she got out a dust rag and did a cursory pass over the outside of the piano and the organ across the room.  We chatted about different things that we shared together over the years, and she held forth especially on how upset she had been over not being able to get in touch with me, that she was worried that maybe I had died, like my dad did.  (He always scheduled her a year ahead and he missed her tuning a week before he died, we didn't know about it and didn't let her know.)</P> <P>Anyhow,  seeing her dust, I announced that I was going out to my car to get my vacuum to dust the inside.  (obviously she was sending me a message).</P> <P>An  hour or so later she remarked, "Oh, you are SO much more thorough that he was!"</P> <P>I believe him to be a better tuner than I am,  it just goes to show there's more that meets the eye (ear) when working for the public.</P> <P>Diane<BR><BR></P></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV></DIV> <P></P>Diane Hofstetter <BR>245-M Mount Hermon Rd.#343 <BR>Scotts Valley, CA 95066 <BR>ph 831-438-6222 <BR>fax 831-430-9741 <BR>dianepianotuner@hotmail.com <BR><br clear=all><hr>Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at <a href="http://explorer.msn.com">http://explorer.msn.com</a><br></p></html>
