<HTML>If dampers are working correctly you might check for loose  or cracked apron below bridge and or loose bridge pins, check for bearing at bridge and force screwdriver on string at that point, apply pressure, if string sounds correctly check for this delamination at apron.  You can then prise loosen bass strings, prise up apron, clean as best you can, re glue and countersink screws after drilling pilot hole through bridge...Hope this helps tom mc</HTML>
