<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>There were several posts about tuning levers
recently.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>I've found that using a 6 dollar shaft from =
Shaff number
16R. Then using a very hard super ball and epoxying it onto a =
1/4 inch
x 2 inch long brass nipple available at the plumbing store. (Drill a =
suitable hole in it with a hole saw or a sharpened steel =
tube.).
Then use a 1/8 x1/4 reducer and attach to the end of the =
shaft. I
found that some heads would bottom out or not fit =
properly.
There must be a conflict between brands that are threaded either too =
much or
too little. So I cut off about 1/4 inch of the shaft and =
chased the
threads with a die.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>The slight give of the hard ball gives it a good =
feel. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>I'm looking for just the right ball that is firm =
but has
enough give to protect the hand. I don't do much tuning but =
some have
complained of hand problems so this might help. I'll let =
you
know if I find just the right ball.</FONT></DIV>
