<DIV><FONT size=2>Eight flanges were measured prior to =

Lubricants were applied to inside and outside of each side of the =

the flanges were then rotated back and forth 20 times each =

Flanges were left to sit for 30 minutes and measured =

were then allowed to sit for 24 hours and measured once again.

<DIV><FONT size=2>Conclusion and comments:</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Goose Juice (TM) was effective in reducing the =
effects of
verdigris significantly more than Protek (TM) on these samples.
Moreover, Goose Juice (TM) demonstrated a more lasting effect. =
At this
writing, it has been about 72 hours since the treatment was =
initiated.
Flanges 1 - 5 are still holding at the 48 hour reading. Flanges =
6 and 7
have remained at the 48 hour reading. Flange # 8 has
increased to 9g. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Long term results are not conclusive from this
experiment. Readings should be taken again after 1 week, 1 =
month, 3
months and 6 months. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Note on application. Goose Juice (TM) =
is a more
viscous solution than Protek (TM) and thus it is not clear to =
what extent
it penetrates all the way through the bushing. Whereas it =
is easily
observable how Protek (TM) is easily absorbed by the bushing =
and
surrounding wood, </FONT> <FONT size=2>Goose Juice (TM) =
appears to
sit on the surface for much longer and doesn't penetrate quite so
readily. Nevertheless, it does appear effective in its treatment =
and it
can be assumed that absorption does take place. It would be =
interesting
to see whether modifying the composition of the solution so that it =
contained
either a penetrating carrier, or a higher percentage of penetrating =
carrier,
would effect the results. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Based on these results, it appears that Goose =
Juice (TM) is
at least an effective temporary treatment for verdigris, and possibly =
an
effective long term solution. An attempt to duplicate this data =
should
be made. </FONT></DIV>
