<DIV>Hi All,</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Here are a couple of photos of the grand action caddy that Laroy Edward=
s
makes and sells. I used it yesterday for the first time, but I forgot =
to
take the camera to the jobsite. Hopefully these shots around my worksp=
ace
at home will give you an idea.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The piano I used it for yesterday was the Erard that I'd worked on a co=
uple
of times. I did a very rough regulation of blow distance, let-off=
,
drop, and repetition to render it at least playable. Israel Stein=
said that getting these pianos into really fine regulation is nearly impossi=
ble,
and I'm beginning to believe it.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The one thing I really need for working on this or other Erards i=
n
the future is a capstan tool. Nothing I had fit the six-sided turnbuck=
le
type capstans, other than a small pair of vice grips. Not ideal for sp=
eed
or delicacy...:-( If anyone has a suggestion for where I can get an
appropriate tool, I would appreciate it!</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I do not much care for the rep/jack spring configuration on these. =
;
The springs are quite long, and not that easy to tension accurately.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The best thing about using the table on this job was the ease in gettin=
g to
the other side of the action--by swiveling it around on the wheels in a conf=
ined
space-- without walking around in circles all day. I managed to y=
ank
the rep springs out of the jack slots a few times, and had to pull wippens t=
o
get them back in.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Hope the pics give you an idea,</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
