A local town was having their town hall renovated and needed to get their tw= o grand pianos moved out of the town hall during renovations.  We were = called to move them.  After encouraging them to move them to our storag= e facility (or at least another climate controlled storage facility) they de= cided to move them to the highway garage where both pianos were left on thei= r sides.  Once all the renovations were done we were called for the ret= urn move back to the town hall, but when discussing the move with the coordi= nator for the town he was insistant that one piano would be set up and he wa= nted one piano to be left on its side indefinitely as they were going to be = trying to sell it.  After a small discussion with the man, all the time= , being adament that the piano be left on its side, he finally told us what = was really up...while the piano was on its side at the highway garage, they = decided to try to sell the piano and so attempted to show the piano.  A= nd obviously anyone who has never before touched a piano can set up a grand = piano, No Problem!  Why hire a piano mover at all!  They put ALL t= he legs on and the lyre and then tipped the piano off the board to set it up= .  Needless to say, the bass leg could not take the stress so it snappe= d, then the piano shifted and was dropped the rest of the way crushing the t= reble leg and lyre.  So it wasn't that he didn't want to set it up, he = couldn't...he only had one leg. ~Lanie ________________________________________ Moody Piano, Inc.
