There were several posts about tuning levers
recently.

I've found that using a 6 dollar shaft from =
Shaff number
16R. Then using a very hard super ball and epoxying it onto =
a 1/4
inch x 2 inch long brass nipple available at the plumbing store. =
(Drill a
suitable hole in it with a hole saw or a sharpened steel
tube.). Then use a 1/8 x1/4 reducer and attach to the end of =
the
shaft. I found that some heads would bottom out or not =
fit
properly. There must be a conflict between brands that are =
threaded
either too much or too little. So I cut off about 1/4 inch =
of the
shaft and chased the threads with a die.

The slight give of the hard ball gives it a =
good
feel.

I'm looking for just the right ball that is =
firm but has
enough give to protect the hand. I don't do much tuning but =
some
have complained of hand problems so this might help. =
I'll let
you know if I find just the right ball.
