David,
The #1 agraffe broke on me during a re-stringing. The replacements
I had were too big in diameter (and too long also I found out later). A
machinist friend checked my sample, ordered the correct drill bit and the
tap and it worked like a charm. I'm a firm believer in letting an expert
steer me right if I'm in muddy water. The only caution he gave me
was to use a slow turning drill. My cordless worked fine. Iron is
easy to drill.

replacing agraffes on a piano that appears to be an unmatched shank size

Any suggestions, warnings or otherwise? Thanks, David
