Here on the West coast in Calif. Bay area the cost =
of
living is significantly higher & thus higher shop rate prevail=
s
than say in the central Valley where I am. We are officially a Bay are commu=
ter
community 85 miles away which is driving up real estate prices & he=
nce
the cost of living higher is climbing. but still more affordable. You'll fin=
d
shop rates in Valley the $50 to $60 Per hour.

My home & shop are at the same location=
In
Modesto & fortunately the cost come under one umbrella but if I had to r=
ent
3 K. Square feet in the SF bay area I'd have to charge at least $75 pr
hour.

5o Miles away from Modesto in the Sier=
ra
foothills folks balk at a 80 to $90 tuning fee. Here it's about 100 to $125.=
In
the Bay it's higher I'm told, appox.$150 or more depending & they have t=
o
fight the traffic to get anywhere. There is so much de-pend-in going on=
in
this business that there is no price fixing possible.
