inconvenience is considered less important than the rights of the
spammers to free internet access and their rights to free speech. =

<P><FONT color=#000080>Recently my server (Olynet) installed some =
fairly
effective filter software -- Postini -- that catches most of it. =
Typically
about 25 to 50 a week. If any do slip through it's an easy matter to =
forward
them to the company where the senders will be tracked down and =
Postini's
filters will be improved as a result. </FONT>
<P><FONT color=#000080>When the software was initially installed the =
posts of
several contributors to pianotech -- because of the nature of their =
return
addresses -- were also flagged, but those are now cleared and it's =
rare for
Postini to block anything that should be coming through. </FONT>
<P><FONT color=#000080>It has also flagged a number of virus loaded
posts/attachments.</FONT>
<P><FONT color=#000080>All in all, a good thing. It's not a total =
solution,
but it sure helps. </FONT>
