to read an
article in today's St. Petersburg Times newspaper about John Ragusa's =
job tuning
pianos on a cruise ship. I don't know how many of you know John, but he =
is a 20+
year experienced and well respected piano technician in the Tampa =
Bay area.
He directed (I don't know exactly the title PTG give these folks) the KC =
Annual
PTG Convention a few years back. He was the first one at our local
chapter I talked to about joining the PTG, some years back
now.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It is a typically uninformative article =
about piano
tuning/service work in general and touches a bit on the ship =
environment. I
guess that is typical for any newspaper article that deals with anything =
technical. But it has a couple OK pictures - worth checking out for =
something a
bit different!</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>I've been servicing the pianos on the =
Carnival
cruise ships in the Port of Tampa for several years now. I =
currently
have two ships - the 855 ft. Inspiration and Carnival's newest and =
biggest,
the 963 ft. Miracle (the Miracle is the largest ship to have sailed =
under
the Sunshine Skyway bridge at the entrance to Tampa Bay). The =
Inspiration has
five Yamaha C3s and the Miracle has eight shiny new Yamaha =
C3s.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>It's an interesting gig. I enjoy it a =
pretty fair
bit. I enjoy getting away from junk pianos every once in a
