<HTML>Mark, Sorry to hear that your client is having problems with her new piano.  = I think that the store's obligation will depend on what is actually wrong wi= th the piano. If there is a defect with the piano, every effort should be made by the stor= e/Young Chang to resolve the issue.  If this issue is, for some reason,= unresolveable I would think that the only right thing to do would be for Yo= ung Chang to issue a replacement piano.  This would be the case only if= there was an actual defect with the piano. Unfortunately, the possibility exists that there is nothing wrong with the p= iano.  As a general rule, we try to discourage "surprise" pianos for pe= ople who have been playing for years.  We had one instance where a husb= and was buying for his wife a surprise piano for their new home.  It en= ded up not being her style.  There was nothing wrong with the piano, ju= st not her thing.  She ended up coming in and choosing a piano that was= several thousand dollars less than the original piano (that had already bee= n delivered to her home).  To try to be accomodating and keep a happy c= ustomer we did allow them to trade down but charged a restocking fee to cove= r the extra moving costs.   I think that every dealer has to have = policies but also be somewhat flexible.  If its just that she doesn't l= ike the way the piano plays and nothing is actually wrong with the piano, sh= e shouldn't penalize the store for a mistake that her parents made for picki= ng out the wrong piano. I think the first thing to do is to find out if the problem is a piano defec= t or just not her style piano.
