Hi Chris,
Good to hear from you. You are right on the money.
When the pedal Lyre is screwed, the legs are not far
behind. So do them all.
The common axle/clamped pedals , give the most problems. The low
grade felt/cloth that is clamped around the axle wears through, and
wobbles all over creation.
A piece of Denim or leather, impregnated with paraffin wax, will give you
a permanent solution. Yep you read that right Denim. One of my way
out in the country temporary fixes, that has stood up well these last
10yrs. <G>
Got lucky on that one.

Check also that the splined pins in the pedals is also tight. While you
are on with it, check the legs. They probably need the same
treatment. A leg jack is useful for this job.

Hello list,
We have fixed dozens of these critters.

Here's our method with no recalls, many years after the first.

1. Strip lyre.
2. Take a mallet and block of wood, and hammer the lyre
braces back to being tight to the consol parts.
3. Use PVC electrical tape to mask off and dam the crack
area. stretch it well. that way no leakage. Wash the area with
laquer thinner before applying tape. Will not effect the
polyester finish.
4. Use West Systems, thin Marine epoxy to fill all the voids.
Warm with a hair drier for best wicking. It will run like
water. Leave 24hrs to set.
5. Repeat process at opposite end, even if it is not loose.
It is going to fail sooner than later.

A little shoe stain (dye) added to the west systems, will make the repair
almost invisible.

Plasticine will also make a very effective dam.

The epoxy seems stronger than CA glue. And will not wick and ruin
the finish like CA.

Hopes this helps
