small pieces
of thin buckskin, gluing them to the underside of the end of the tape, =
and
using a needle, make a hole in the leather through the original =
hole.
This should give you a tight fitting new hole that should fit with =
some
resistance over the end of the wire, thus staying in place.

end of the
tape just pushes over the wire and the bend in the wire keeps the =
tape from
sliding down the wire. The bend doesn't hold the tape captive. =

leading to.
The hole in the end of the tape has become enlarged and the wire, =
which is
acting like a mechanical bull, throws the tape off. The problem is =
that
occasionally the end of the tape interferes with the =
