one of
the impact hammers on are the Baldwin's and Steinway's. I usually have =
quite a
time using that kind of hammer because it really takes some getting used =
to.
I've heard it said that when you first get one you should use it on the =
next ten
pianos you tune, and then you might just get the hang of it. I've
also experienced the phenomenon that if you nail the right pitch on =
the
up-swing, just take it off the pin, no need to reverse =
direction!</FONT></DIV>

country, I very much like to tune Baldwins except for a very few =

console that I could see the thick shaft of my extension lever bending =

Pianotek. They
sent me one of those adjustable weight levers as is shown in =
the
Schaff catalog. A rather presumptuous substitution, but I thought =
I would
give it a try on my own vertical with typical "new piano" pin
tightness.</FONT></DIV>

bang this
thing over and over without the pin moving. This is not good. Is =
this
particular lever too light? Is the Mehaffey heavier? Does anyone =
