<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>Looking for some input on proper set =
up/break down
of a piano with a "spider lyre". Okay, first things first: This is =
my name
for it and not necessarily the official nomenclature. I =
borrowed it
from the "spider dolly" concept.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2>What I'm talking about here is a =
Chickering quarter
grand with double legs. The a lyre is connected to each =
double leg in
the middle with long extensions. Basically a "Y" type arrangement =
with all
three legs tied together with the lyre as the mid point. The =
question is
what is the normal procedure for striking and setting one of =
these? The
connections are attached via screws on the BOTTOM side, thus you can not =
access
them with the piano set up. This means that this has to be done =
while the
piano is on it's side. The bass side leg would have to be attached =
which
is not possible when tipping a grand. The section that goes to the =
tail
leg is a separate piece that also screws from the bottom. When it =
is all
assembled it looks very stylish but there must be an official procedure =
for this
arrangement. Can anyone shed some light on this?</FONT></DIV>
