All,

The City of Industry is about 25-30 miles east of Los Angeles, on the
south-east end of the San Gabriel Valley (some call that area the Walnut
Valley). It is an area which has a preponderance of
commercial/industrial business. Near Rowland Heights, Hacienda
Heights, West Covina, and La Puente, it is near residential areas and
some of the best authentic Chinese food in the world (Rowland Heights,
according to a Time magazine article of a couple years ago).
Primary east-west rail runs through the town. No, Roger, it is
solidly within the area of "smog." Or haze. Or, as
I prefer to look at it (mostly accurately, but sometimes requiring
imagination) an ocean-influenced climate. That means
temperate climate, mostly decent RH. A temperature inversion layer
at about 6,000 feet reduces air mixing above that elevation, and the
mountain range provides a container. Although the inversion layer
assures temperate climate, sometimes the smog is bad. FWIW,
the smog is much less than the 70's. The real pretty days are when
the wind flow reverses, due to a high pressure area over the Nevada-Utah
area, and it blows (gently for the nice days) down the mountains towards
the ocean.

The City of Industry is 30 to 40 minutes drive from the ocean (except
rush hour), and not too much farther from the mountains. Its a
little farther to the desert, which is beautiful this time of
year.

It's a
California City, close to Orange County. Ontario Airport
is close by. It's inland from Los Angeles about 50 miles.
A clean new community. (Away from the LA smog)
