First, I really dislike this pedal setup that Kawan¶’W6VB b’F†–æ²—I'2–â6öÖRÇ7C¤6—G’s§7CÒ&öâ#ãÇ7C§Æëace w:st="on">Boston’s too.  nµF†W&R&RÄõE2öbÆ6W2Fò7VV²âfæ'7²–âFF—F–öâFòëthe overly complex mechanism you show in this picture, thn¶W&R&RF†RW7VÂÆ–gFW"×&öBÖöâ×F†RÖF×W"ÖÆWfW"ÖfVÇG2ÂFëhe lifter rod bushings etc.  If the metal is corroden¶BæòÇV'&–6çBF†B™&ÒfÖ–Æ–"v—F‚v–ÆÂ†VÇâfæ'7²öëlishing all those friction points and then lubricating isn²F†RöæÇ’F†–ærF†Bv–ÆÂ†VÇâfæ'7²F†RÖWFÂF†B6†÷vës in the picture appears corroded so I’d guess that the ln¶–gFW"&öBæBfÆævW26÷VÆBvVÆÂ&R6÷'&öFVB2vVÆÂãÆó§ë>

I serviced this Kawai UST-7 (built in 1983) ben¶f÷&R6‡&—7FÖ2âfæ'7²BF†RF–ÖRÂF†R&öÇG2†BÇ&VG’ëbeen installed by someone else to hold the damper pedal dn¶÷vâÂæB’F–v‡FVæVBF†R67&Ww2f÷"F†R‡&–v‡B6–FR’F×ëer trap lever assembly to keep it from blasting off. n³²Ö—&6ÆR7W&Rfæ'7²‚Â'WBF†W&Rv27F–ÆÂæö—6RÂ’G&ëeated the damper spring felts with Protek--which seemed tn¶òF¶R6&RöbF†R7VV·2âfæ'7²’v2†÷–ærF†Bv÷VÆFë be the other miracle cure.

 

When I went back to take the n·–7GW&RÆ7BvVV²Â’æ÷F–6VBF†Bfæ'7·F†R7VV¶–ær—2&ëack.  I'll admit it, I was in a hurry and didn't takn¶R6Æ÷6RÆöö²BF†RfVÇG2âfæ'7²’7W÷6R6ÆVæ–ærF†Vë damper springs and replacing the spring felt is next.&nbn·7²—2F†W&RF–ffW&VçB†f7FW"’6öÇWF–öâÒÖÆ–¶R6öÖRÖ—&ëacle lubricant I haven't heard of that came on the marketn²v†–ÆR’v2öâÆVfSóÂõ5ããÂôdôåCãÆó§ãÂöó§ãÂõãÂôD•cæë
