Yes, let's do. I signed my name as "RPT, CTE Madison Chapter Exam Site" in
my official capacity as a Certified Tuning Examiner, having just presided
over an Exam, the way I have done now for 10 years. I am fully aware of all
of the rules, I have to be in order to hold that post, which is a volunteer
one and which requires many, many hours of hard work.

I, in fact encouraged Baoli to come to Madison and I'm glad he did. I'm
proud of the excellent reputation of the Music Department at the University
of Wisconsin and know Joel Jones RPT to be one of the finest, most hard
working technicians there is. Boali studied hard and had excellent training
under Joel and the results of his Exam confirm that.

While I would be the first to discourage any talk about anyone having failed
the Exam, or broadcasting of personal information, I think it is important to
make excellence something to aspire to, not something to hide or keep
private. At seminars and conventions, the fact that Members have passed
Exams is always announced. When someone passes at the level that qualifies
one to train as an Examiner him or herself, that fact is usually acknowledged
too.

Anytime I have mentioned the fact that I work as a CTE it has been to tie
what I have learned and experienced in that capacity to the study and
analysis of Tuning. If there is a benefit to being in that position, it is
how profoundly one begins to understand what a complex subject tuning really
is. I always encourage those who show they have the knowledge, talent and
skill to become Examiners because it will only help them and the people they
work with achieve a higher degree of excellence.

To insinuate that I have "advertised CTE *status*" on this list is an insult
but all I have to consider is the source to realize that it comes from
someone who can't find anything better to do, much less write about. This
topic does not even belong on this List, it is better suited for PTG-L. But
I know why it was written here and I sure hope it is the end of it.
