<HTML><FONT FACE=arial,helvetica><FONT SIZE=2>The left pedal moves a radially cut piece of wood stripping which has tabs <BR>attached for all the notes and at the end of the tabs a small piece of felt <BR>which acts as a soft mute. You should find a hinge point on the right side <BR>above the plate about 3/4 of the way toward the treble. Usually made of <BR>birch or rosewood.
