Alan, the pressure plates are all good but the main part of the wippen
flanges are the problem.<br>

Doug, thanks for your answer - just what I needed. I don't know how
many times I've glanced at that item and it just didn't register.<br>

replaced a whole set of them in a Chick 1/4 grand and it's a pretty simple
job. It will mess up some of your hammer shank/whippen alignments, a
little. The secret to an easier life is to buy (or make) a butt plate
inserter tool. Don't know where I got mine, probably Schaff.

Subject: Chickering Wippen Flanges (brass)
I'm rewhatevering a 1911 Chickering grand which has brass flanges for
hammers and wips. The hammer flanges are beefy and holding up well, but
the wippens are starting to break a few tongues at the notch for the
center pin. About a dozen are no longer able to hold the center pin
tightly. Anybody have some to spare? Better ideas for repair?
