This a = school venue and the Arts council owns the piano and neither have any money and so = having a monetary donation such as this is rare and I donate a lot of time on top = of whatever money happens to get coughed up. It's part of the learning = experience too. </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2>First I am doing exactly what Roger = Jolly suggested in his class on Samicks at the Ca convention. Repin the = shanks, they are tight, 3/4 of a swing with the knee flex test. Eliminate other = friction and relead the keys with the whippen assist springs disconnected, then = adjust the H out of it so the wippens are working proper. <G></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=Georgia size=2>Unfortunately after all this, tonally = the piano sucks. Great sustain. For the piano/ flugel horn duo that played in = January it sounded beautiful. Great revues. This time there is a 60 piece orchestra = with it. Really a string plucked sounds as if it is in a big hall. Thung. Do = any of you guys know if these boards are hopeless? Is this one of those pianos = that could benefit from that centripetal tensioner or spider add-ons?
