Hi Dale,

I came to Portland in Fall 2003 to continue my study of audiology at
Portland State University. There is a professor here who specializes=
in
industrial hearing safety and that is the closest I could come to learning=
how
to study a piano technician's hearing situation. Most audiologists a=
re
concerned only with helping patients, who already have hearing problems, g=
et
fitted with hearing aids and getting on a rehabilitation program, whose fo=
cus
is in hearing one's grandchildren. I am interested in learning how t=
o
prevent hearing loss.

One thing led to another and we ended up moving here. Took us the=
greater part of this year; in fact we will be in CA again for the first tw=
o
weeks of December, servicing clients there, and dealing with a number of o=
ur
pianos which are still down there.

Attached is a brief write-up about the earplugs we use. If you wa=
nt
further information, let me know.
