works the tuning hammer. Even got a small blister. But after a day
of different kind of work, I'm all back to my usual self. (And I was
pretty tired. They didn't ask me to do the tunings 'till I had already
worked for about 4 hours... But a little sleep took care of
that.)

I haven't used an ETD yet. I've looked at the
advertisements, and maybe wish a bit from time to time, but for the time
being, I'm an aural tuner. I've been toying with Tunelab a bit, but I
don't have a laptop computer, so it's pretty much academic for now. I
would like to see if I could use an ETD to make me a better aural tuner.
We'll see. But one thing about the 'marathon tuning', it was good for me
in that I got to set 10 temperaments on 10 different pianos, the speed of
which improved as I went, and they actually got better as I went.
(Practice makes perfect...or at least we move in that direction...) I
was going too fast, and they were in pretty bad tune for me to play with more
or less stretch in the octaves. That'll have to be for another day!
